Long lines for COVID shots 'insane' so book appointment says Health Unit

'With more eligible individuals being urged to receive their third dose of the COVID-19 vaccine at a shortened interval of 84 days, the availability for walk-ins has been limited'

A poster on the BayToday Facebook page describes the lineup to get her booster shot "insane" and that's why the Health Unit is telling people to book ahead of time.

"We are advising individuals looking to receive their first, second, or third dose of the COVID-19 vaccine to book an appointment," says a news release. "With more eligible individuals being urged to receive their third dose of the COVID-19 vaccine at a shortened interval of 84 days, the availability for walk-ins has been limited to ensure physical distancing is able to be maintained at the clinics."

You can book an appointment through a participating pharmacy, online at Ontario.ca/BookVaccine, or by calling the Health Unit Call Centre at 1-844-478-1400 or 705-995-3810.

To help meet the demand for third doses, the Health Unit will be adding more appointment times and locations for COVID-19 vaccine clinics.
