A minor hockey team is trying to gather socks for a very good cause.

The North Bay Peewee AA Minor Trappers are holding a sock drive.  On Saturday the minor hockey team set up donation boxes at both West Ferris Arena and Pete Palangio Arena as part of the cause.

They are asking for new or gently used socks. All sizes are needed.  The donations will go to North Bay's Warming Centre.

With this sign of goodwill, the Trappers are also competing for the Chevrolet Good Deeds Cup.

The Chevrolet Good Deeds Cup seeks to inspire young Canadians to do good by transforming the positive values learned through hockey into good deeds within their communities

Over the past three years, thousands of good deeds have been completed by teams in cities and towns across Canada.
