Local students to host ‘foire de Surnaturel’

The Near North District School Board is excited to announce that French Immersion students from Chippewa Secondary School have teamed up Grade 8 with students from Pinewood Public School to host a 'foire de Surnaturel' (a supernatural fair). The fair will take place tomorrow, Thursday, December 7, 2006 from 9:30-11:00 a.m. in the Pinewood Public School gymnasium.

Students will be demonstrating their oral, reading and writing skills in French as they participate in this outstanding event. Eleven booths will be set up, where fortunetellers specializing in different areas will fortell the future and elaborate on the present. Topics will include numerology, dream interpretation, Tarot cards, graphology, destiny dice and others.

The Near North District School Board French Immersion program is specifically designed for children whose first language is not French. French Immersion programs are offered to students in Junior Kindergarten (Early Immersion program) and to students in Grade 5 (Extended Immersion program). The Near North District School Board French Immersion program offers students in our district the best of both worlds!
