Local robotics late March event postponed

A major robotics event scheduled for March 27-29 has been postponed today. Officials from the FIRST Robotics team in North Bay was going to host 27 teams from across the province at Nipissing University.

A major robotics event scheduled for March 27-29 has been postponed today.  

Officials from the FIRST Robotics team in North Bay was going to host 27 teams from across the province at Nipissing University. 

"Based on World-wide travel advisories and ongoing information from health officials regarding the North Bay FIRST Robotics event scheduled for later this month at Nipissing University has been postponed," stated Paul Cook, Co-chair FIRST Robotics North Bay Event.

"Although this is unfortunate and disappointing news for FIRST participants and their countless supporters, the safety and well-being of the participants and our community is our top priority," the release continued.  

"We would like to take this opportunity to thank Nipissing University who has hosted our North Bay event for the past several years, and our many sponsors, volunteers and supporters. 

"We are committed to keeping our community updated as we learn more and decisions are made regarding the possibility of rescheduling FIRST events."
