The NDP is set to enter the upcoming Federal election by naming its Nipissing-Timiskaming candidate this Thursday Aug. 22.
It's expected to be Rob Boulet, a Learning Systems Technologist at Nipissing University
"I’m very excited and honoured to share that on Thursday of this week I will formally be nominated as the candidate for Nipissing-Timiskaming NDP Riding Associations," he said. "I hope to see and speak to many of you at the (nomination) event and over the next weeks leading to the election."
MP Charlie Angus will be the guest speaker.
"Rob Boulet will be offering to stand as our candidate for Nipissing-Timiskaming. Members welcome to vote. Friends welcome to attend," says an announcement on Facebook.
The meeting takes place at 176 Lakeshore Drive at 7 p.m.
Boulet will become the fourth announced candidate.
Mark King is running for the People's Party, Jordy Carr for the Conservatives and Anthony Rota for the Liberals. The Green Party is expected to name a candidate in the next few weeks.
The election takes place on October 21.
