MPP Gilles Bisson joined Nipissing NDP Candidate Henri Giroux at the NDP Campaign office on King Street Thursday to pay tribute Federal NDP Leader Jack Layton and to talk with people about the upcoming provincial election.

Timmins James Bay MPP Gilles Bisson says “Politics at Queen’s Park leaves everyday people falling further behind. We need change.”

Both he and Giroux says the affordable NDP plan resonates with Ontario voters.

“With many issues like the HST, job uncertainties and health care being the talk around kitchen tables, it’s time for people to want change,” says Giroux.

He says the Ontario NDPs want to increase CPP pension because everyone deserves to live comfortably in retirement, offer tax breaks to businesses that are struggling and creating jobs, as well as remove the HST off hydro and gas and cap the price of gasoline.

"We also want to reward job creators, we don’t want to give $120 billion to companies that not going to help the economy," says Giroux.

"We want to give money to business that will be there, that’s going to create jobs good paying jobs and we’re going to reward them."

Giroux says the NDP are rolling out their platform slowly in order for all of the key points to be heard and understood by voters. He says the party's Northern Ontario policy is solid and will be revealed in the coming weeks.
