Wow, what a competition in Huntsville. The weekend of April 25th to April 29th, 2007 Renee's Dance Connection Competitive Team competed in DanceFest 2007 in Huntsville Ontario.

The competitive team consists of dancers that range in age from 7 to 17. There are six groups of dancers.

Minis - Alyssa Castonguay, Tory & Zoe Lukach, Sarah Martin, Paige Moir, France Robichaud, Jayden Tranter & Claire Walsh.

Juniors - Valerie Couture, Allie Rose Fairbarn, Victoria Sentner, Jenna Shortt, Emma Smith & Jordan Stewart.

Intermediate A - Adam Arthurs, Emily Forth, Shayla Lamoureux, Katrina Piekarski, Sarah Purtell & Zoe Tessier.

Intermediate B - Kayla Battigaglia, Kennedy Horton, Amber & Brooke Jahn & Hope Moir.

Senior A - Megan Cuncins, Michelle Gibb, Taylor Matson, Kate Taylor, & Roxanne Ward.

Senior B - Bronwyn Arthurs, Jennifer Butler, Becky Conlin, Katie Forth, Jennifer Guillemette, Jessica Jacques, Sarah Kelly & Jesslynn Morrow, MacKenzie Spiess.

Over the four days the dancers competed in approximately 55 dances. They brought home 2 High Golds, 36 Golds and 17 High Silver marks. High Gold is 90+, Gold is 85-89 and High Silver is 80-84.

Some of the highlights of the weekend are as follows.

The Minis received a 1st place with a Gold for their Group Tap Rockin Robin.

Junior Competitors Valerie Couture & Allie Rose Fairbarn received a 1st place with a gold for their Hip Hop Duet Bounce.

Junior Competitors Jordan Stewart & Jenna Shortt received a 1st place with a gold for their Musical Theatre Duet "We're in the Money"

Intermediate B Competitor Brooke Jahn received a 1st place with a Gold for her Hip Hop Solo "Crazy Frog Mix."

Intermediate A Competitors Adam Arthurs & Emily Forth received a 1st place with a Gold for their Duet "True Colours" and Sarah Purtell and Katrina Piekarski received a 1st place with a Gold for their Musical Theatre "Anything You can Do"

Senior A Group received a 1st place finish with a Gold for their Modern Group number "Neglect."

Last weekend Renee's Dance Competitive also competed in the Kiwanis Festival and alot of Gold was seen there as well. Marks have been published in the North Bay Nugget.

This weekend is the last Competition of the Season. All Out Dance will be held on Saturday, May 12th at the Capital Centre from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. All are welcome to come out and enjoy!

The year end recital for Renee's is also being held on Saturday, May 26th with two performances, one in the afternoon and one in the evening. Tickets are $10.00 and are on sale at Renee's on Lakeshore Drive.
