The Granite Club will be looking for a new manager as Bobby Ray has accepted a position as the new executive director of the Northern Curling Association.

"This is the most difficult decision I have ever had to make; while at the same time an incredible opportunity and honour that I am grateful to have my friends, family, and colleagues supporting me in accepting," said Ray.

"I am beyond excited to be entering a new chapter in my life as the Executive Director of the Northern Ontario Curling Association. I look forward to growing the best sport in the world with my newly extended curling community, and to remain a proud resident of North Bay and member of the Granite Club," said Ray.

Mark Brown, board president of the North Bay Granite Club says Ray will be missed.

"Curling in Northern Ontario will be in the hands of a forward-thinking and progressively focused administrator who will leave no (curling) stone unturned in order to grow the sport of curling from the grassroots to the highest level of participation," said Brown in a release.

"We look forward to what the future brings for Bobby and curling in Northern Ontario. I know that we, as a member of the Northern Ontario Curling Association, will continue to benefit from Bobby’s tireless commitment and dedication to the sport of curling."

Ray will begin his new position effective June 15, 2020.
