Local CAW and ONR reach tentative deal

Reports indicate that after marathon negotiations a tentative agreement has been reached between the CAW Local 103 and Ontario Northland.

The reports further indicate that the deal will cover all 5 collective agreements the local has for their 420 employees with the ONTC; however, details will not be made public until union members ratify the agreement.

Ratification meetings are slated for North Bay, Cochrane, Timmins, Kirkland Lake and Englehart but the dates have yet to be determined.

The union was set to strike this Friday at Noon after CAW Local 103 employees at voted an overwhelming 96.7% in favour of a strike on Monday.

Union officials are recommending that their members accept the agreement.
