John O’Rourke and Sarah Achtenberg of The Brownstone on Jet avenue took home wins in three separate categories in this year’s National Kitchen and Bath Association Ontario awards gala.

O’Rourke took first and third place in “Best Traditional Kitchen” and “Best Large Kitchen”, respectively, while Achtenberg took second place in “Best Concept Kitchen”.

The National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA) of Ontario is an association for businesses in Ontario in the kitchen and bath industry. The awards ceremony was held virtually on February 22 and highlighted accomplishments of businesses within the industry.

“We feel incredibly honoured to represent North Bay with these three major wins,” says O’Rourke. “We’re proud of the work we do every single day, and these awards recognize and prove that our team creates high quality kitchens with special care and attention to detail.”

The Brownstone’s three wins were decided by a panel of judges containing industry professionals who are also members of the NKBA.

This is not the first NKBA awards gala win for The Brownstone, as they have won awards in previous years for categories such as “Promotional Display” and “Best Budget Kitchen”.

“John and I receiving these awards feels amazing,” says Achtenberg.

The Brownstone was established over 30 years ago in North Bay. Starting as a small business on Fisher St., The Brownstone also increased the size of its team from four to 11 people in the past five years.
