More than $47,000 has been awarded through the Ontario Arts Council to local arts groups, Nipissing MPP Vic Fedeli announced today.
Project grants include:
- $17,000 for Les Compagnons des francs loisirs toward their annual Francophone culture celebration in North Bay and region. It will include theatre productions, music performances and art exhibitions that explore cultural diversity;
- $9,845 to Windsong Music through the Northern Arts program toward its Windsong Music Festival. This festival presents Canadian artists, including new generation artists (age 18-30), from northern Ontario;
- $14,447 to Capital Centre through the Ontario Dances program toward programming pop-up dance events. They were also awarded $6,000 through the Theatre Connects program toward its presentation and audience development activities.
“These organizations are vital to the vibrant arts and culture community we’re fortunate to have in Nipissing,” said Fedeli.
