The Summer in the Park committee has announced its opening act for Saturday, August 4th.

It is local singer-songwriter, Annie Sumi

“Annie’s album, Reflections, made her a stand out talent on the Canadian scene”, said Geoff Richardson,  Summer in the Park Co-Chair.

“We are thrilled to have her here August 4th.”

Annie has been described as having the ability to transform real and imagined stories, then weaving them together with enchanting music to create narratives that touch the heart.

“I’ve been story catching, travelling across the country listening to people’s stories about life and loss, love and laughter,” said Sumi.

"In the Unknown", is a collection of stories that speak to the journey of the human spirit. Since the release of her debut album, "Reflections", in 2015, she has received nominations for "Best Singer-Songwriter" (TIMAs, 2015), "Contemporary Roots Album of the Year" (Hidden Roots Collective, CFMAs, 2017), and more.

Sumi consistently gives her heart to the stage, making an emotional connection with her fans and inspiring the audience to feel something.

“Annie is extremely talented and destined for big things in the music industry,” said Richardson.

“A couple of years from now you’ll be bragging about how you saw Annie Sumi when she was starting out”.
