Game over!

***

Holding penalty to Bratina with 20 sec. left. Time out Mississauga. Bratina had a shot at open net but couldn't beat defenceman, so held him.

***

Goalie out for SH

***

Bourne misses an open net for SH....Smith strong during SH flurry.

2 mins left.

***

My picks for 3 stars...Miller, Paul, Liberati....we'll see how that matches he final announcement.

***

Look like Troops will hit the half century in shots this afternoon.

***

On second NB goal change assist from Locke to Zach Shankar.

***

TV timeout...50-50 is$2,481...annonced attendance is 3,136 but not that many in the seats

***

Troops kill penalty. Pace of game has picked up and beccome much more entertaining.

***

Crowd now into it. That last goal Miller's first of the season from Liberati at 4:56. Fourth goal means free fries for ticketholders.

***

Penalty NB....crowd booing....looks like boarding to Miller.

***

Now 4-3 Troops....Bobby McIntyre doing his rounds with Go Go Go.

***

Miller scores on a great wrister....wow what a shot.

***

Miller takes the shot from the slot, Paul knocks in the rebound...Mike Amadio also gets a helper. Shots now 40-12. Goal at 139.

***

Theyre reviewing this one. Was stick too high......NO says the ref. 3-3 tie.

***

Looks like Paul scores...batted out of the air in front of net.

***

Didn't see Poirier again after that hip check. Looked like a leg injury. We'll watch to see if he returns.

***

Over doing an interview on CKAT with my friend Matt but 2 mins to start of third period. Will we see some desperate hockey? Troops out.

***

Period over. Troops outshoot SH 17-1, but that one was a goal for Mississauga.

Shots nfow 38- 12 for Troops.  but behind 3-2 to Steelheads.

***

one minute to ceasefire.

***

Penalty SH, hit to the head Devlin 17:43

***

SH kill penalties

***

First penalty over.

***

Another SH penalty...short 2 man advantage for Troops.

***

liberati great effort in front, but denied.

***

We have our first penalty, Everett Clark goes off. hooking 11:50 Battallion PP

***

Paul almost gets his second on a nice pass from Olsson. TV time out, still 3-2 SH.

***

Much more entertaining hockey...Troops now outshooting SH 29-12 mid point in the period.

***

That SH goal swas Everett Clark, unassisted at 6:57.

***

Oh oh, Zach Poirier takes a hip check and limps to the  bench.

***

Bad clearing effort by Troops results in SH goal. 3-2 SH. I'll get the scorer....was blocked from seeing the goal itself.

****

First goal Nick Paul, his 7th, from Bratina at 3:29, the 2nd Zach Bratina, his 4th, from Brett McKenzie and Kyle Locke at 4:18.

***

Troops score agin....tied at 2...Bratina...Troops on the attack.

***

Just watching Paul (Ottawa prospect) play is worth the price of admission. Play now speeding up from both teeams.

****

Nick Paul a breakaway....he scores!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

***

Santos a good chance, Martin takes it off the shoulder. Marim cathes puck to stop play. I think a penalty would change the pace of this game. Who's first?

***

McKenzie wins opening faceoff for Troops.

***

Players lined up for faceoff to start 2nd.

***

The Battalion are in Mississauga for Halloween night and the SH's are offering prizes for best costume. Kids under 18 get in for $5.

***

Interestingly coach Stan Butler didn't say a word to his players during the mid period TV time out. Players have said that's a sign Butler isn't happy with their play.

***

Other games today, Sag and Guelp tied at one in first, Plymuth and Ottawa tied at 1 in the first, Windsor leads Owen Sound 1-0 in the first. Games later, Sarnia at Bellville and SSM in Oshawa.

***

Just a guess, but I think we'll see a different Battalion team in the second...seemed to get their legs the last few minutes of the period.

Period ends...2-0 Mississauga. Shots 21-11 for Troops not relected on scoreboard. No penalties during period.

***

Troops waking up, putting on some real pressure now. Just over a minute left.

***

Paul line showing signs of life, al most pots one off deflection.

****

Best chance for Troops so far, Nick Paul gets a rebound but turned away. 4 mins left in first.

***

Nice effort by Bratina, but Martin makes the save on a 2 on 1. Five minutes left in the first. Troops looking listless. Much different game from the Soo on Thursday. That was end to end action for 60 minutes, this one a bit of a snoozer.

***

This is one of 6 OHL games today. We'll keep an eye on the others.

***

"c,mon boys, wake up" yells a fan.

***

Very quiet in rink right now...bit of shell shock I expect. Smith spawls to save one.

***

Troops outshooting SH 8-6 after 9:30 but seem sluggish.

***

1st SH goal Lucas Venutto from Sam Babintsev at 4:01. 2nd  goal from Babintsev from Bryson Cianfrone at 4:25, 2-0 SH.

***

Sh score Lucas Venutto knocks one out of the air 6 feet in front of Smith. 1-0 SH....oh make that 2-0 after just 4 1/2 minutes.

***

Couple of good chances by SH but turned aside by smith....Devlin dangerous shot close in for SH.

***

Hendriksson great opportunity on an early 2 on 1 but Martin makes a chest save.

***

Charlotte Mogen sings the naional anthem and we're ready to go, SH win the opening faceoff.

***

It's National Foster Parent Week and Gisele Hebert, executive director, Don McLean assessment officer, foster parents Rick and Cheryl Major, Dawn Lamothe, a former youth from foster care, and Hannah Brunton, goalie....drop the puck.

***

SH in blue Leaf-like sweaters, here come the Troops in their whites.

***

Refs are not warming up and both teams are lined up ready to hit the ice.

***

Refs are Jason Goldenberg and Brett Mortsion.

***

Tank is inflated and Sarge is skating his rounds. Carpet is out for the puck drop. Looks like lots of seats available if you're thinking of dropping down and watching the game live.

***

Defenceman Brandon Devlin leads SH with 3 g and 4 a for 7 pts. A 2nd defenceman Sedan Day has the same total so it's loolong like they will be quick to jump into any rush.

For the Troops #21 Nick Paul with 6 g (One hat trick) and  3 a leads with 9 pts. Mike Amadio is 2nd with 8 pts on 3 g and 5 a.

***

#13 for SH is Bobby McIntrye s it looked like  we'd have a matchup tonight....but he's a scratch. Looks like our BM is in the rink and will lead third period cheers again this afternoon.

***

Smith has a goals against average of 2.93 and save % of .882. Spencer Martin, in goal for SH has gaa of 2.95 and sv% of .923 so they look on paper to be evenly matched.

***

Scratches from the Troops....Riley Bruce, Mike Baird, David Sherman, CalvinGomes.

Teams just leaving the ice after the warmup, crowd filtering in.

North Bay sits 2nd in the Central division with 9 points with the Steelheads behind them in 3rd with 8. Troops have played 7 games, one more than the SH. B\rrie leads the way with 13 points but have played 10 games.
