Royal Purple Lodge #170 members test out Personal Listening System on Thursday

Patrons of the Capitol Centre who struggle to hear preformances, will now have their listening enjoyment enhanced thanks to the generosity of the Royal Purple Lodge #170.

Honoured Royal Lady, Cecile Leblond, presented Vern Presse, Capitol Centre Board President, with a cheque that covers the cost of the new Personal Listening System on Thursday.

Lodge member, Felicity MacLaurin, says the devices are a natural fit to the mandate of the Royal Purple which is helping the hearing impaired.

“Somebody suggested 'go to the Capitol Centre' as I understand they are thinking of putting in some sort of system for the hearing impaired,” explained MacLaurin.

MacLaurin said following discussions with Capitol Centre staff members, Lee Kools and Dee Adrian, the lodge went ahead with the project.

Patrons may borrow on of the twelve units during a show at no charge, however, they do need to reserve a head set by calling the Box Office prior to the show. Also, a five-dollar fully-refundable deposit is required to reserve a unit for use during any performance.
