Letter: Hey BayToday! Help me stop delivery of Nugget flyers

In the past, before COVID, I had to contact the Nugget about every 6 months to tell them to stop delivering the flyers to my home

To the editor:

Like everyone else these days, I search the flyer sites on the internet, to find the latest local deals on groceries and such. There's even an app on my phone showing all of them.

In the past, before COVID-19, I had to contact the Nugget about every 6 months to tell them to stop delivering the flyers to my home since they are the ones responsible for the delivery of the flyers.

They have now returned to their pre-covid ways and started to deliver the flyers, driveway to driveway in plastic bags. With their continuing downsizing of staff, I no longer am able to find a contact to complain to.

At one time, it wasn't so bad, when the flyers were put in my mailbox. From there, I could put them straight into my blue box, since they were an unnecessary nuisance.

They then switched whomever was delivering the flyers to a service which is too lazy to get out of their vehicle and throws them at the end of the driveway.

Again, not a big deal, until the snow flies and you get one of those damn bundles stuck in your snowblower. I'm tired of paying for repairs because of receiving something I don't need or want.

When will the stores and Nugget get with the 21st century, and stop cutting down trees and making more plastic, so they can deliver a product that I don't need or want and ends up costing me money?

If I had a birdcage to line the bottom of or a woodstove that I needed paper to start a fire, it would be a different story, although I would still complain about rooting through the snow to find them in the winter.

Perhaps enough employees of the Nugget read BayToday site and can put a stop to the delivery of the flyers to my door. I grow weary of rooting through pages of nonsense on their site to find the person responsible.

Please stop delivering the damn things and ruining the environment!

Thank you
Murray Cooper
