Lead levels close École St-Vincent

École St-Vincent will be closed tomorrow because of an unforeseen situation that occurred during renovations. Analyses of air quality showed a lead level higher than normal. As a result of these analyses, students and school staff immediately left the building and went to the St-Vincent-de-Paul church, where education activities resumed.

According to Mr. Raymond Lessard, Director of Education of the Conseil scolaire catholique Franco-Nord, the Board is confident that it will be able to reopen the school soon. Indeed, tests are being conducted and the Board will announce this weekend whether students and staff will be able to return to the building as early as Monday. The Board is obviously preventive and proactive in such a situation.

"The health and welfare of our students are always our highest priority. I thank the whole school community of St-Vincent for its cooperation and patience," declared Mr. Lessard.

Junior Kindergarten Registration for September 2008, North Bay

The information and registration session for North Bay elementary schools scheduled for tonight at école St-Vincent will still be held starting at 6:30 p.m. in the basement of St-Vincent-de-Paul church (across the street) – 1265 Wyld Street.
