Lawn ornament used in convenience store robbery

Police say shortly before midnight on Tuesday a man entered a convenience store on Marshall Avenue, armed with a metal lawn ornament.

Check your yard for missing lawn ornaments...one may have been used in a local robbery.

Police say shortly before midnight on Tuesday a man entered a convenience store on Marshall Avenue, armed with a metal lawn ornament.

He threatened the clerk with it and demanded money.

The clerk grabbed cash from the register and handed it over.

The ornament-wielding robber then fled the store, travelling southbound along Marshall on foot.

The clerk, who was not injured, immediately called 9-1-1 to report the crime to police.

Police searches of the area did not find the robber.

The suspect is described as:

  • A white male;
  • approximately 6’0 tall and heavy set;
  • in the 30s to 40s age range;
  • wearing a lime green t-shirt and jeans; and
  • with a white t-shirt concealing his face and a red shirt on his head.

Police are looking for help on this one.
