One new fire was reported in the Northeast Region on Sunday, June 26. Wawa 15 was reported northwest of White River and is out at 0.1 hectares. Other active fires include Cochrane 11, west of Attawapiskat, which is not under control at 0.1 hectares, Wawa 12, northwest of Manitouwadge, which is under control at 60.0 hectares, Cochrane 6, southwest of Kashechewan, which is being observed at 500.0 hectares and Cochrane 10, west of Attawapiskat which is under control at 0.5 hectares. No issues are anticipated with any of the active fires in the region.

One new fire was reported by the evening of June 27. Cochrane 12 was reported west of Attawapiskat and is not under control at 2.0 hectares.

Most of the region will be cloudy with rain showers by tomorrow.

There will be strong winds, increased precipitation and temperatures dropping to the mid-teens.

The hazard is low throughout the southern half of the region but increases to moderate in the northern portion.

The fire of note in Ontario is Sioux Lookout 35, in the Northwest Region. The evacuation of Mishkeegogomang First Nations in northwestern Ontario was completed due to smoke from the fire. Sioux Lookout 35 remains listed as not under control and is more than 66,000 hectares in size.
