American film and television actor Larry Hagman is dead at the age of 81.
The Actor, director, producer best known as J. R. Ewing in the 1980s primetime soap Dallas and as the astronaut Major Anthony Nelson in 1960s I Dream of Jeannie passed away peacefully in his bed in a hospital in Dallas, Texas on Friday at 4:20 p.m.
Reports indicate he passed away due to complications of a recent battle with cancer.
His supporting film roles include Fail-Safe, JFK, Nixon, and Primary Colors.
Hagman was the son of the actress Mary Martin.
