A female pedestrian, hit by a truck as she crossed Lakeshore Drive at the North Bay Mall exit yesterday, is in serious condition in hospital this moring say city police.
There \re reports the woman has been tansferred to Sudbury with serious head injuries.
The accident happened around 2:40 p.m.
An elderly woman who was crossing Lakeshore Drive on foot was struck by a truck turning left and heading southbound on Lakeshore Drive.
The woman sustained serious injuries and was rushed to hospital.
Public Works installed barricades to close Lakeshore Drive for about three hours from Mulligan St. to Marshall.
North Bay Police, together with an Accident Reconstructionist from North Bay O.P.P. are currently investigating.
Police have not released names of the victim nor driver of the truck. No information about possible charges is available.
