This Saturday night, September 19, as the Nipissing University Lakers hit the ice in their first ever preseason game in their first ever season of play, pink is in.

The hockey team will be donning special pink jerseys for the game against the Ottawa University Gee-Gees to raise awareness and support for Breast Cancer research as part of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation’s Real Men Wear Pink campaign. The team will also donate a portion of ticket sales and concession sales to breast cancer research. For the Real Men Wear Pink game, all concession items will sell for $1.00.

In order to create a sea of pink in Memorial Gardens, Real Men Wear Pink t-shirts will be for sale at the game and given away as prizes.

The game begins at 7 p.m. Tickets for Saturday night’s game are available at the Memorial Gardens Box office at a cost of $11 for adults, $7.50 for students and seniors, and $5.50 for children 12 and under (GST included).

The Lakers complete their preseason with games on September 26 and 27 in Toronto versus Ryerson University, the University of Toronto and York University.
