Lake Nipissing OPP snowmobile patrol attracts own business

While patrolling on Lake Nipissing, a sledder approached an OPP officer. Upon speaking to the driver, it was determined they had consumed an alcoholic beverage and he was arrested and transported to the North Bay Detachment of the OPP for further testing

One person was arrested and charged in North Bay following a Motorized Snow Vehicle (MSV) patrol on Lake Nipissing.

On January 26, just before 4 p.m., the North Bay OPP was patrolling Lake Nipissing with the Ministry of Natural Resources when an MSV approached the officer.

Upon speaking to the driver, it was determined that they had consumed an alcoholic beverage. The driver was arrested and transported to the North Bay Detachment of the OPP for further testing.

As a result of the investigation Andrew MacGillivray, 61, from North Bay was charged with impaired operation - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in North Bay on February 13, 2024.

The accused was also issued and 90-day driver's licence suspension and the MSV was impounded for seven days.
