News Release

Knowlton Ridge Equestrian Centre is proud to host its 1st Annual National Reining Show this weekend (August 27th & 28th). Often referred to as “figure skating on a horse”, this elegant and exciting equestrian event will be hosted for its first time in Northern Ontario as a NRHA (National Reining Horse Association) and ORHA (Ontario Reining Horse Association) event. Likely to receive Olympic Status in the 2012 Summer Olympic Games, this is a great opportunity for spectators and competitors to come out to Knowlton Ridge to see the precision and control of the horse/ rider connection.

Judging the show on Saturday will be Trevor Walton from Detroit, Michigan. Judging the show on Sunday will be Jean Martin Donais from Montreal, Quebec. The top riders from Ontario and Quebec are expected to attend.

The general public is invited to attend this exciting event this weekend. Admission for spectators is free and refreshments and food will be available. All competition will be held in the outdoor Hunter Ring weather permitting.

Special thanks to the ORHA for all of their support in bringing this event to Powassan.
