If so, you could help the Corbeil Ancestry Committee.

This Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Corbeil Park Hall, the Corbeil Ancestry Committee will be hosting a day to gather information on the first 100 years of Corbeil - 1897-1997

Corbeil was founded in the late 1890's with a rich history in lumber camps and farming. It was also one of the first connecting links to the railway heading west.

2021 is the 100th Anniversary of East Ferris (Corbeil and Astorville).

People are asked to bring their artifacts, photos and stories and volunteers will be ready to scan, photocopy and document the rich history and the knowledge that people will share.

"We ask that people come prepared with knowing the who, what, where and when of their pictures and documents. Photos and documents will be returned the same day," say the committee.

Hot dogs and refreshments will be available for a donation which will go towards helping to pay for the printing of the book about the history of Corbeil.

The committee, which is sponsored by the Corbeil Parents Association, will start with the first 100 years of Corbeil's history. If it's successful, the committee will do a second publication looking at 1998 to the present.

If you have any questions or would like to volunteer, please contact: Bill and Gisele Vrebosch 705-752-1304 / 705-494-0515 [email protected]
