We've been very lucky this year with the autumn weather, but you knew it was coming... a Colorado Low will move into the area this weekend to bring the first winter weather of this year.
Enjoy today, as a mix of sun and cloud will combine with a high of 14 to produce a wonderful fall day.
The weather will turn tonight as clouds move in with a 60 per cent chance of showers.
Expect periods of rain tomorrow as the temperature falls to plus 5 in the afternoon. Flurries arrive Sunday with the temperature struggling to reach minus 3 and we could see blizzard conditions as winds whip up to 10 cm of snow.
It could be worse, snowfall totals of 30-40 cm are expected for the hardest-hit northern communities.
Environment Canada says the next 10 days look very winter-like with flurries almost every day and not a positive temperature in sight.
In addition, a special weather statement is in effect for:
- Témiscaming area
- Ville-Marie area
Snow in store for Sunday and Monday as a low pressure system from Colorado will reach Northwestern Quebec Saturday afternoon before slowly moving eastward. The rain will gradually change to snow Sunday morning over Western Quebec and Sunday evening over central areas.
