King Sportswear North Bay has added two new members to its team.

Like many businesses, 2020 has been an up and down year. What started as an amazing year for the sports apparel business took a drastic turn in March when COVID-19 arrived. It caused closings and business for sports teams, that still are not playing, disappeared.

The business changed and owner Pat Paquette says they adapted their business model by focussing on the graphic and signage portion of their business.

Now Paquette believes was a good time to help create a sales division for the business by adding two experienced salesmen to his new team.

Gary Davison and Dave Lamothe, former owner of Carte Blanche Promotional Products, bring more than 60 years of sales experience to King Sportswear.

"We have been searching for a sales team for a long time, somebody who can knock on the doors and find business. For the longest time what I am good at is just being here and managing the shop. When people come in, I take care of them, but to actually go out and service people in their office was something I never had time for. So for the longest time I was looking for someone to go out and do sales calls," said Paquette.

Paquette expects Davison to visit various companies to create business while Lamothe is expected to focus on corporate sales work.

"Lamothe will bring to King Sportswear more polished corporate level service customers which I think will be very important moving forward and being able to grow in that capacity," explained Lamothe.
