Kids only sale a big hit

The students at Ferris Glen Public School recently raised $450 at their KIDS ONLY SALE to be donated to the East Ferris Food Bank. The KIDS ONLY SALE is an annual event at the school. Parents, staff and students bring in donated items for the students to purchase as Christmas presents for members of their families.

“The sale is always a big hit with the students”, states Principal Gisele Lynch. “We have parent volunteers who come and wrap the purchases so the students can take their presents home and put them under the Christmas tree right away.”

All items are priced under $2.00 with most selling for 25 cents or less. The sale was held on December 6th and organized by Mrs. Christine Loreto. Each class was taken to the “store” to purchase their items at various times throughout the day. The KIDS ONLY SALE and resulting $450 donation to the East Ferris Food Bank demonstrates service to our community. Service is just one of the Character Education traits celebrated in the Near North District School Board.
