It was the third annual volleyball game to benefit the North Bay Food Bank.

Students and staff collected non-perishable food items to be presented to the Food Bank at the beginning to the game.

The students had a secret weapon. Hogan Smith played for Nipissing University for three years and won the national volleyball title with them.

It's his second year helping the kids "I'm just out here having fun and showing support, he told BayToday."

Sarah Leger is the organizer.

"The purpose is to help the local food bank. We collected a whole bunch of food last week during dress down days and the students brought in a canned good today to watch the game."

The game was officiated by Deputy Chief Shawn Devine, who also provided the dough-nuts.
