The fourth annual Jordan Kopas Foundation has started up for the Christmas season. The toy drive will allow children who are less fortunate to have toys when they wake up on Christmas morning.

Jordan was hit by a car and killed in North Bay during the 2001 Heritage Festival. He was four at the time.

His grandfather Raymond Hodsdon described him as such a giving boy.

“He would share his toys with all the other kids,” Hodsdon said.

“He is missed very much, and we have to leave his mark for him, and keep his memory alive.”

Last year the toy drive received 1,700 toys. This year’s goal has been set at 2,000.

“Every year it gets bigger and bigger,” Hodsdon said.
You can drop toys off at the North Bay Police Service headquarters, on Princess Street, or the fire station.

The Foundation will be accepting toys right up until Christmas.

“It’s all about the kids,” Hodsdon said.

“Jordan would have wanted this.”
