Andrew Robinson models his Vote Dreamcoat tshirt Saturday encouraging everyone to register, vote and push the theatre troupe into the Aviva Community Fund Competition finals.North Bay's Dreamcoat Fantasy Theatre is the only Northeastern Ontario subimission to make it to semi-finals for the AVIVA Community Fund Competition and they need your votes to make it to the finals.
My Time at Dreamcoat
I started Dreamcoat in 2006 doing “The Sound of Music”, I fell in love with theatre and have been doing plays ever since. Dreamcoat has been my thing for 6 years from being in the chorus to being a lead. Now I am celebrating my 15th show “The Jungle Book”. I meet new people every play so if you think about it I know lots of kids, because I do 3 shows a year. Thanks to Dreamcoat I am now doing plays at home, I make up scripts, I make sets and film them. This is my 2nd last time doing the fall show and I am sad to leave next year, many of my friends are younger than me, so when I can no longer do the kids show I will miss seeing them all.
The good thing is that Dreamcoat has a Teen/adult show so when I am in grade 9 to grade 12 and also as an adult I will still be able to do Dreamcoat.
Dreamcoat has taught me many new things for example all the theatre terminaology. Before Dreamcoat I did not know any of the terms such as what “blocking” is, what the “house” is and also the staff titles and what their roles are in theatre. I am grateful to Dreamcoat for all the opportunities they have given me, and I hope Dreamcoat will be around for a long time and I hope to someday be a director for Dreamcoat!
