Update: restored It's minus 25 and power is out in Mattawa

Power is not expected to be restored until at least 7 p.m.

Some residents in the Mattawa area are facing a chilly afternoon.

A BayToday reader reports, and confirmed by Hydro One, that power is out in that community.

Almost 300 families are affected, and Hydro One reports crews have been dispatched to find the problem. There is no indication yet what caused the outage.

Power is not expected to be restored until at least 7 p.m.

Power is also out to 26 families in Restoule.

Hydro One says a traffic accident is to blame and expects restoration by 6 p.m.
