Is your hose potable?

With all the frozen pipes disrupting water supply around town the city is warning that the temporary hose connection you have in place supplying your home with water may not be potable (suitable for drinking).

With all the frozen pipes disrupting water supply around town the city is warning that the temporary hose connection you have in place supplying your home with water may not be potable (suitable for drinking).

Hoses designated as “potable” are available for purchase at various locations throughout the city and will bear markings on the packaging indicating "for potable water”.

Any hoses supplied by the City of North Bay are “Non-Potable” which means they should not be used for human consumption.

If residents have used their own hoses for temporary connection they should check for markings on the hose indicating for “Potable Water” prior to using it for human consumption.

Potable water is available for pick-up at all three of the City’s fire stations.

Residents are required to supply their own containers for filling.
