South Himsworth – Earlier today, Powassan OPP received a report of an injured bear on Highway 11, South of Powassan.
Shortly before 8 a.m., police were notified of an injured bear as a result of having been hit by a motorist. The bear was last seen in the median between Proudfoot and English Line as it was attempting to crawl across the highway. Police attended the scene and were unable to locate the injured bear.
Police are asking the public and nearby residents to be vigilant.
