Tanya asked that we use this picture of her and Mike in Las Vegas to show the love between the two.

Tanya Retson says she is overwhelmed by the huge amount of people reaching out with love and support following the sudden death of her husband Mike Anthony.

"The community has just been so amazing. I need to let people know that I'm very, very, very grateful for all the well wishes. It's so unexpected. We have no family here. We're just two goofy Maritimers hooking up in North Bay and all our family is on the east coast, but we love North Bay."

Tanya wanted to let everyone know how appreciative she is and reached out to BayToday to offer her thanks.

"I would be remiss if I didn't extend my greatest gratitude to all of you who have reached out to me and our family. The tsunami of love, support, and kind words have been extremely overwhelming and greatly appreciated.

"Mike loved our city and took pride in everything he set out to do. Our daily life was based on love, kindness, and giving.

"Thank you North Bay from me and especially Mike. He loved this city and we love you."
