North Bay Mayor Victor Fedeli was first in a long line-up Wednesday to order the Vic Burger at Harvey’s Restaurant on Algonquin Avenue following the month long closure due to an E.coli outbreak.

Joining Fedeli for a burger and a shake was John Baker, one of the patrons who fell seriously ill with E. coli after eating at the establishment October 6th.

Baker said Harvey’s President Rick McNabb thanked him for coming out and that the staff really appreciated the vote of confidence.

“I will be back,” Baker tells reporters.

“I don’t eat fast food often but I will be back.”

Medical Officer of Health Dr. Catherine Whiting announced Tuesday that she was lifting the order that closed the restaurant October 12th after the food testing and environmental samples came back negative,

The investigation into the outbreak is ongoing.
