The Ministry of Transportation alon with the OPP, North Bay Police, Firefighters and Paramedics all were talking snowmobile safety Thursday morning.

A recent report indicates that from 1988 to 2004, more than 11,000 snowmobile crashes occurred on Ontario public roads, off-road trails, private properties or on frozen lakes.

In those accidents more than 500 people died.

As part of the agenda emergency personnel showed the media how tough it is to rescue someone from the frigid waters of a frozen lake. Chris Dawson has that story.
