"Officers began an investigation into the allegations and were made aware of a video circulating on social media," says PC Brett McCulloch.

As a result, a 15-year-old girl and a 17-year-old girl, both from Huntsville are charged with:

  • Assault
  • Assault with a weapon
  • Theft under $5,000
  • Forcible confinement

The girls are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date. Their identities are protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA).

"Investigators believe this is an isolated incident and there is no threat to public safety," adds McCulloch.
