Temiskaming OPP Detachment officers have found human remains in Harris Township, just west of Temiskaming Shores.
The discovery was made this past weekend, Sat. May 23, shortly after 9 p.m.
"At this time, the identity of the deceased has not been confirmed,": says Constable Jennifer Smith in a news release. "A post-mortem examination will take place at a later date. "
There are no further details at this time as the investigation is ongoing says Smith.
Temiskaming OPP members with the assistance of the OPP Crime Unit, are continuing to investigate.
The Office of the Chief Coroner for Ontario and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service are also assisting.
