When you have a trunk full of guns and knives, you don't want to attract police attention.

So you should check before heading out that everything is in working order.

Two men hauling a travel trailer failed to heed that advice last Friday, and as a result, face multiple weapons charges.

On April 10 at 9 p.m., North Bay OPP officers were patrolling on Highway 11 in North Bay.

They saw a vehicle hauling a travel trailer with no lights, travelling on the bypass and pulled it over. After questioning the occupants, officers began an investigation.

A search of the vehicle resulted in multiple firearms and other assorted weapons being seized.

Wesley Berman, 23, of London, Ontario, is charged with:

  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Possession of a prohibited device (Butterfly knives)
  • Possession of a prohibited device (Conducted Energy Weapon, aka Taser)
