Hospice fundraising walk a big success

About 40 volunteers rolled up their sleeves and worked hard to make the first Hike a resounding success.

More than 400 people, adults and children, from throughout Nipissing and East Parry Sound  walked the beautiful Orange and Yellow trails in Laurier Woods this weekend. 

The hike total currently stands at $56,440.

In addition to board and fundraising committee members, about 40 volunteers rolled up their sleeves and worked hard to make the first Hike a resounding success.

Mayor Al McDonald, and MP Anthony Rota, each gave speeches and cut the ribbon to start the walk.

Bob Wood, former MP for Nipissing was MC. RBC regional manager Frank Berdan and the North Bay Branch Manager Rob Celebre made the presentation of their $5,000 donation at the beginning of the event.

Three Security students from CTS College volunteered at the registration desk, in order to ensure good order at this critical station of the event.
