Police have charged a woman after a disturbance at the Marcel and Jane Labbé Arena in Sturgeon Falls Saturday afternoon.
Shortly before 1:30 p.m., Nipissing West OPP responded to a call at the arena on O'Hara Street, West Nipissing.
"It was reported that after an earlier hockey game on that same day, a parent from an opposing team had assaulted another parent with a solid object in their hand," says Constable Rob Lewis. "Minor injuries were reported by the victim."
Melisa Simon-Carroll, 40, from Markstay-Warren, was arrested and charged with:
- Assault with a weapon
- Assault causing bodily harm
- Mischief - destroys or damages property
Simon-Carroll is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in North Bay on April 4.
