The North Bay Food Bank is running a food drive in conjunction with the North Bay Battalion home game on Sunday afternoon.

The initiative is called the Hockey For Hampers Food Drive.

Hockey fans are asked to bring non-perishable food items to the game in support of the North Bay Food Bank.

Debbie Marson, executive director of the North Bay Food Bank, says volunteers will be at all the entrance gates to accept donations.

"We are accepting non-perishables, personal hygiene and baby items, and monetary donations," noted Marson.

The game where the visiting Flint Firebirds clash with the Battalion takes place on Sunday, January 15 with puck drop set for 2 p.m.

The gates open for the public at 1 p.m.
