History in the making regardless of the outcome

Regardless of the outcome of the American Presidential election it was history in the making says Tasha Akpaffiong.

Akpaffiong, who is from Houston, Texas and is a member of the United States Air Force serving in North Bay, says the USA was making history Tuesday because they were going to end up with their first African American president or their first female vice president and that made the whole process exciting.

“There was a wow moment for me ... I thought this is unbelievable I never thought it would happen and it did,” she says although she was quick to point out that she was not as emotional as the folks she saw on TV.

Akpaffiong says now that the election is over it is time for the States to move forward and address the hardships and economic crisis the country is experiencing.

“I feel there is hope,” she states.

“It is time to come out of the hold we have been in with this economic storm ... we will come out of it.”
