Highway in Nipissing Village still closed

Highway 534 at South River Road west of Highway 654 is still closed due to flooding conditions.

Ontario Provincial Police advise that Highway 534 to Highway 654 is open to local traffic only.

Ministry of Transportation (MTO) and Pioneer Construction crews are currently working on the highway, police say.

Nipissing Township Road Crews are working on all the area side roads with reported flooding.

The Following Nipissing Township roads are closed due to flooding:

Alsace Rd, 1 km from Hwy 534 due to a culvert washout;
Ski Hill Rd at Alsace Rd and Kings Side Road; Kings Side Road; Stillar Side Road at Hwy 534; Bellahill Road close to the intersection at Highway 534.

Area residence are encouraged to seek alternate routes if there is a need to travel through these areas.

Signs have been posted by the MTO and Nipissing Township clearly indicating the closures.
