Update, the highway is now open.
Preliminary investigation revealed that a collision occurred between a southbound tractor trailer and a northbound automobile.
Four occupants were transported to the Lady Dunn Hospital in Wawa with undetermined injuries.
Highway 17 between Wawa and White River has been re-opened to traffic in both directions.

Wawa Detachment of the OPP say that as of 8:50 a.m. Highway 17, 70 kms North of Wawa is closed between Wawa and White River.
Police say a tractor trailer has collided with another vehicle. OPP along with Emergency Services from the White River, Dubreuilville and Wawa area are currently assisting at the scene.
It is unknown if a detour is available. Police say they don't know when the highway will reopen.
