Highway 11 has been re-opened to traffic between Burk’s Falls and South River.

Traffic had been stranded in the Sundridge area, unable to move due to extremely poor highway conditions caused by heavy snow squalls.

The weather improved dramatically, allowing the Highway crews to clear the highway.

Highway 11 has been closed to traffic between Burk’s Falls and South River.

Traffic has been stranded in the Sundridge area, unable to move due to extremely poor highway conditions caused by heavy snow squalls. Highway crews are working to clear the highway. It’s not known when the highway will be able to be re-opened.

O.P.P. Requests that motorists traveling in north eastern Ontario exercise caution when driving on area highways, as conditions can deteriorate quickly with winter weather conditions.
