GREATER SUDBURY, Ont. — Professional wrestling is returning to Sudbury, this time at the historic Grand on Elgin Street in Sudbury on Friday, Sept. 29.

The event kicks off with WWE/WWF hall-of-famer 'The Mouth of the South' Jimmy Hart, who has a professional wrestling career spanning more than 40 years.

The Mouth of the South will make his Sudbury debut and will be available for a meet and greet to VIP ticket holders from 6-7 p.m.

Hart began his wrestling career in 1978 as Jerry ”The King” Lawler’s manager in Memphis

He was nicknamed “The Mouth of the South” due to his loose-lipped style, often augmented by his trademark megaphone, which he used to instruct and encourage his proteges, to discourage and annoy opponents and announcers and also as a weapon.

While with the WWF, he managed Greg Valentine, Bundy, the Hart Foundation (Bret Hart and Jim Neidhart), the Honky Tonk Man and many others.

He turned baby-face in 1993 after Ted DiBiase tried to hit Brutus Beefcake in his surgically-repaired face with a briefcase. He left WWE with the departing Hulk Hogan and followed him to WCW in 1994.

Jimmy Hart returned to the WWE in 2011 which he continues to make appearances to this day and is still under contract with the WWE.

Sudbury’s Own Magnum McLaren The Project X Heavy Weight Champion will be defending his title along with Impact Wrestling’s Bhupinder Gujjar, Sheldon Jean and many more wrestlers to be announced.
