“I AGREED TO WHAT?” Are the very words Brian Doan, former North
Bay resident, uttered after realizing that he had accepted a monumental challenge.
Doan, a cancer survivor, was looking for a challenge that would rival any awareness campaign he had participated in previously.

The outcome was to compete in 16 Half Ironman Triathlons in 12 different countries and on 5 different continents in 8 months.

A scheme so out there, his partner Heather Thomson couldn’t pass up the challenge and agreed to join him.

Doan, now in Ottawa, is passionate about two things, triathlons and the battle against cancer.

Doan, a Testicular Cancer survivor is continuing to challenge himself beyond the battle with cancer. “Ten years ago, I pushed myself through treatments to get better. Now, I continue to push myself to the extreme in challenges like this so I can bring awareness to Testicular Cancer and the need for early detection and a cure".

And so the former Raider, in partnership with Thomson, recognized that his love for Triathlons was the perfect vehicle to raise awareness and hence the development of the site TriTheWorld.ca

To see where Doan is in his challenge visit TriTheWorld.ca. At this time Doan is still working to secure a title sponsor and invites interested parties to contact him.
