City police say a man that was harassing a local woman also put other people in harm's way by his driving habits.

They say shortly after 10 a.m. on Friday, someone called North Bay Police to report a harassment.

The accused man and the female victim in this incident are in an estranged relationship.

Police say the accused harassed the victim at her North Bay workplace on October 30th, and at a North Bay restaurant on December 4th.

Then on December 3rd at around 2:30 p.m., while both were in separate vehicles, the accused followed the victim from her residence to Birches Road. On three occasions, at McIntyre Street, Main Street and Birches Road, he moved into oncoming lanes of traffic, pulled alongside her vehicle, and yelled at her to pull over.

The victim refused and was able to escape unharmed.

With the help of West Nipissing Police, North Bay Police arrested a 29-year old Commanda, Ontario man at his home, and charged him with:
  • one count of criminal harassment; and
  • one count of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.

In order to protect the identity of the victim, North Bay Police say they will not be releasing the name of the accused, who was held in custody for a bail hearing.
