The Hands Heroes program was launched on Thursday at Northgate Shopping Centre.

The program is a partnership between HandsTheFamilyHelpNetwork.ca (Hands), and Life Long Planning Group, celebrated the launch of the holiday fundraising initiative in support of Hands’ Family Matters Campaign.

Hands Heroes ornaments are on sale now; each ornament features designs by local children and youth and includes a ticket into a draw with $10,000 in cash prizes to be won.

Life Long Planning Group and Hands celebrated the launch of the Hands Heroes ornament fundraising efforts by showcasing the four winning ornament designs.

“Helping people is at the core of what both of our organizations do, which is why Life Long Planning Group is happy to show support for such a great cause,” said Michael Wellard, Financial Security Advisor and Investment Representative, Life Long Planning Group.

The Family Matters Campaign is a capital campaign for Hands’ new North East Ontario Family Help and Treatment Centre currently being built at 391 Oak Street E, North Bay.

The 18,000 sq. ft., $8.5 million project will provide a larger, more accessible and compassionate treatment environment for families. It is expected to be completed in March 2018.

“Everyone in the community can be a Hands Hero by buying an ornament and supporting the Family Matters Campaign. Hands is all about families and the holidays are a great time to celebrate that,” said Jeffrey Hawkins, Executive Director at Hands.

Hands and Life Long Planning Group volunteers will be selling Hands Heroes ornaments every weekend at Northgate Shopping Centre up to and including December 10th. Ornaments can also be purchased at both organizations offices in North Bay and at all Hands locations. For contest rules and details, please visit: www.HandsHeroes.ca.
